Günther’s Catfish, scientifically known as Horabagrus brachysoma, is a type of catfish found only in rivers within the Western Ghats region of India.
It has several other names, such as Sun Catfish, Yellow Catfish, Manjakoori, Bullseye Catfish, Golden Red Tail Catfish, and Solar Catfish.
This fish usually lives in calm backwaters and is often sold alive. During the rainy season (October to February), it plays an important role in local fishing industries.
